Beyond Recycling: Behind the Scenes with the Ninja Spy Detectives
Most people acquainted with Beyond Recycling Services know we help a lot of people save money on trash and recycling service. Did you know that we are also Ninja Spy Detectives who have #trashtag experience?
1. Unsolved Mysteries: The Case of the Bent Beam:
We received a strange phone call the morning of February 1st. Somehow the support beam of a beloved client's dumpster corral had been struck with enough force to bend the giant galvanized steel I-beam that supports the roof, tearing it away from the top of the enclosure. Check it out (points of impact emphasized):
This was a tough case to crack. The client has two vendors with equipment in the corral, which meant we had two suspects.
Suspect #1 had confessed to ramming their dumpster through a corral wall last year after first claiming the plastic dumpster lids resting on said wall had caused the damage. They have since paid their debt to society:
Suspect #2 did not have any priors, at least to the best of our knowledge. However, the damage was done on their side of the corral, and a document placed them at the scene of the crime on the evening of January 31st - the night before damage was reported. Initially we focused our attention on Suspect #1, who vehemently denied any involvement, provided an alibi, and cast enough doubt that we shifted the focus of our investigation to Suspect #2. After a few weeks of the telephone-and-email equivalent of a high-speed police pursuit, Suspect #2 agreed to meet with Beyond Recycling Services and our client on-site to explain why they could not have possibly caused the damage in question.
Some interrogation, the astute observation of our client's GM that the truck lift arms lined up flush with the points of impact, and the fact that those very lift arms are rated to lift 2-8 tons helped us close this case with certainty:
It was determined that Suspect #2 was guilty. Days later, our client received a call from Suspect #2's insurance company to arrange for repayment of repairs of the corral.
2. #Trashtagchallenge Participants: A client called us in distress; their corral was FULL of trash! We took this emergency as an opportunity to shine, and with some help from connections in the industry, got the corral looking great again!
Before:
After:
It is not always hard to go beyond our client's expectations, but we do enjoy a challenge when we get one!
